Major Ellen Inman
Bellevue Police Department
Major Ellen Inman serves as the direct liaison between the Bellevue Police Foundation and the Bellevue Police Department, bringing 27 years of experience in law enforcement as an organizational and administrative leader, supervisor, project manager, and mentor. She is known for her strategic, forward-thinking approach and her ability to develop creative, practical solutions that support both personnel and organizational goals. Major Inman also brings a personable and approachable leadership style, paired with a consistently positive attitude, which helps foster strong collaboration, effective communication, and trusted partnerships across teams and stakeholders.
Major Ellen Inman resides in Buckley, Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Ellen has dedicated more than 25 years to law enforcement with the Bellevue Police Department, where she has focused on community trust, public safety, and problem-solving. She chose this career because she believes in service, accountability, and the importance of showing up for people on their hardest days.
She enjoys traveling with her significant other and spending time with their two dogs, who firmly believe they are in charge. She has a daughter who recently graduated from the University of Utah and two step-sons—one a recent Washington State University graduate and one currently a sophomore there.
Outside of work, she enjoys landscaping, yard work, skiing, hiking, traveling, baking, and reading. She is a proud University of Washington Husky—Go Dawgs—though she does her best to avoid starting rivalries at family gatherings.
Ellen values clear communication, a steady hand, and a sense of humor, and she is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as a liaison and supporting strong partnerships between the department and the board.
