Bellevue Residents Voice Strong Support for Police Department

EMC Fulcrum BPD Results

Bellevue residents are sending a clear message: they value their police department and the role it plays in keeping the community safe. A recent Bellevue Chamber survey found that an overwhelming 89% of voters hold a favorable view of the Bellevue Police Department (BPD). Nearly half gave the department the strongest possible rating, reflecting a deep sense of trust and appreciation.

That trust is rooted in how BPD approaches its work. “Public safety is more than locking up the bad guys,” explained Bellevue Chamber president and CEO Joe Fain. “Bellevue police instill professionalism, de-escalation, and compassion in their work, while also holding people accountable. That’s what Bellevue voters expect.”

Safety is also a top priority for Bellevue’s business community. “As a company with deep roots in Bellevue, we’re committed to being active participants in the community,” said Keri Pravitz, community engagement manager for Amazon. “Safety is a top priority for Bellevue residents, and we share that value — for our employees and for all who call this city home.”

Villette Nolon, president and executive director of the Bellevue Police Foundation, emphasized the community’s role in ensuring BPD’s continued success: “This survey shows how much Bellevue residents value the department’s strong commitment. Our Foundation is proud to provide them with the enhanced tools and programs they need to continue serving at the highest level.”

The survey confirms what many already feel — Bellevue is a community where safety, trust, and partnership matter.
