Bellevue Police Foundation Funds $30,000 for CaseGuard Licenses to Support Records Division
The Bellevue Police Foundation has awarded a $30,000 grant to the Bellevue Police Department’s Records Division to fund two years of CaseGuard software licenses for four workstations. This investment ensures that the department’s records specialists have the tools they need to efficiently manage and protect sensitive video and audio evidence.
CaseGuard is an advanced redaction and evidence management platform designed to streamline the processing of body-worn camera footage, in-car video, and audio recordings. The software automates much of the time-intensive redaction work required to protect the privacy of individuals and ensure compliance with Washington State public disclosure laws. With this technology, the Records Division can handle a growing number of public records requests more quickly and accurately—freeing up valuable staff time for other critical tasks.
The demand for video evidence management has grown rapidly as the use of body-worn cameras and digital media expands in modern policing. Each public disclosure request can involve hours of review and redaction work to meet state and federal privacy requirements. CaseGuard’s automated redaction capabilities dramatically reduce that workload, helping the department maintain its high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.
The Bellevue Police Foundation’s support for this initiative reflects its commitment to funding technology and training that enhance public safety and build trust between officers and the community. By funding tools like CaseGuard, BPF helps ensure that Bellevue Police can operate efficiently, protect privacy, and stay at the forefront of modern law enforcement practices.
The Foundation is proud to continue its mission of providing vital resources beyond the city’s budget—empowering the Bellevue Police Department to keep the community safe, informed, and confident in its police services.
