K-9 Team Officer Ben Bradley and Diego Make an Impact
The newest members of the Bellevue Police K9 Squad, Diego and handler, Officer Ben Bradley, continue to make a positive impact in the community. In September, they were called to assist Kirkland PD in a robbery case. A suspect assaulted a clerk in a convenience store, stole several packs of cigarettes and cash. The suspect ran from the store.
Officer Bradley and Diego were called out at 3:00 a.m. to track the suspect. During the track, Diego recovered 10 pieces of evidence that the suspect had dropped during his escape. Diego also tracked to a location where a skid mark was left obviously by a vehicle leaving in a hurry. It was determined later, the suspect had left from that location in a car. The suspect was not located that night; however, the evidence located may assist detectives in possibly identifying the suspect(s).
Diego was born in 2010. He was purchased by the Foundation in 2011 and works as K9-1. The team was certified and deployed in January of 2012.
The Department wants to thank the Foundation for their continued support of the Police Department. This is just another example of their donations at work.
