Foundation Funds Lifesaving Training Equipment for Bellevue Police
The Bellevue Police Foundation recently awarded a $16,500 grant to the Bellevue Police Department to purchase specialized first aid kits and advanced manikin simulators, enhancing officers’ ability to deliver lifesaving care in critical situations.
The grant funds trauma first aid kits designed for rapid response to severe injuries such as gunshot wounds, deep lacerations, or other life-threatening trauma. Each kit includes tourniquets, pressure dressings, chest seals, and hemostatic gauze — the same high-quality medical gear used by emergency medical professionals. These supplies enable officers, who are often first on scene, to provide immediate aid while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
In addition, the grant supports the purchase of realistic manikin simulators that allow officers to train hands-on for medical emergencies. The new manikins replicate human responses such as breathing, pulse, and bleeding, creating realistic scenarios that help officers practice under pressure. This advanced training ensures that when a real emergency occurs, they can act confidently and effectively to save lives. Seconds matter in a critical incident. By funding this equipment, Bellevue Police Foundation is giving officers the tools and training to make those seconds count.
This investment underscores the Foundation’s commitment to supporting equipment and training that go beyond the city budget—ensuring Bellevue’s officers are prepared for any emergency.
The Bellevue Police Foundation is proud to stand behind the department’s dedication to safety, preparedness, and community care—because every second, and every life, matters.
