Foundation Funds Night Vision Technology for Bellevue Police Bomb Squad
The Bellevue Police Foundation has awarded a $21,275 grant to the Bellevue Police Department’s Bomb Squad to purchase state-of-the-art night vision binoculars. This critical equipment enhances officer safety and operational effectiveness during high-risk incidents that occur in low-light or nighttime conditions.
The Bomb Squad responds to some of the most dangerous and technically demanding calls in the region, including suspicious packages, hazardous devices, and explosive threats. Their work often takes place outdoors, in unpredictable environments, and at all hours. The new night vision binoculars allow officers to clearly see and assess potential threats in total darkness, improving situational awareness and decision-making while reducing risk to both officers and the public.
This grant continues the Foundation’s strong record of funding specialized equipment and technology that go beyond the department’s regular budget. From tactical tools to life-saving medical supplies, the Bellevue Police Foundation helps ensure officers have the resources they need to serve and protect the community at the highest level.
