OFFICER ASHLEY PETERSON

After lateralling from an east coast Sheriff’s department with over 3 years of experience, Ashley Peterson has been with Bellevue PD for another 3 years.  During her time here, she has been exemplary in all aspects, most notably in work ethic and community engagement.  As a result of this, she was selected to be a Field Training Officer and is growing quickly in that role.  She is also a member of the department’s LGBTQI+ advisory council.  In her time away from the department, she enjoys growing her own food, working out and exploring the great Pacific Northwest.

Her supervisor, Sergeant Kidd says of Ashley, “Shortly after assuming the role of supervising Officer Peterson, I saw she has tremendous leadership potential.  She already embodies many of the traits needed for leadership roles, especially in setting the example, selflessness and decision-making.  After recognizing the leadership within her, we began meeting monthly to discuss leadership.  She asks astute questions and I can see growth in her as a result of showing her the leadership she already possesses.”
