Our Supporters Have Made a Difference!

Since 2009 the Foundation has granted nearly $1 million to the Bellevue Police Department. In 2020 our goal was  to broaden the range of items funded by the Foundation beyond the historical areas of equipment, training and recognition to include support for tools of accountability and community connections. As Covid-19 impacted City of Bellevue budgets, Police Chief Mylett asked the Foundation to delay grant making until the department had a better idea of budget impacts and the department’s shifting needs. In response, the Foundation considered grant requests from the Department on an ad hoc basis in 2020 as needs were identified. At year end, the Foundation had awarded approximately $82,000 and is working closely with the department prioritize needs for 2021.
